Employees with this classification spend a significant portion of their time driving CDL vehicles (Class A or B), hauling hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Personnel in this position maintain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with an “X” (tanker & hazmat) endorsement. Drivers must complete pre-trip inspections and log their hours of service using an electronic logging device (ELD).

Primary work involves loading containerized (drum/tote/pallet/box/bulk) waste from industrial/commercial/government clients and transporting that material to a permitted treatment, storage, or disposal facility (TSDF). Other activities include packaging and collecting waste material for transportation while wearing the appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) as provided by ERG. Drivers will also lift and move heavy objects (drums and hoses), generally with a mechanical advantage. Drivers often engage with customers and manage paperwork (work order/manifest/BOL) associated with the task. Drivers must communicate and work well in a team atmosphere.

ERG provides job training and offers annual refresher training as required by regulations.
