Spring Cleaning Household Hazardous Waste Drop off
It’s a great time of year to go through your home, sheds, garage, basement to clean out & dispose of items properly during Spring Cleaning. Poison prevention week and Spring cleaning go hand in hand for the safety of all, especially children and animals. You will want to look for items that you no longer use, or don’t like the product, or expired. Do not throw chemicals away or do not pour them down a drain or sink. Never flush medications down toilets or drains. Don’t forget electronic waste, please recycle with ERG!

Our household hazardous drop off center accepts items & hazardous materials, chemicals, electronics, batteries, light bulbs and medication & medical sharps. See link below for the full list. Here are some common items to look for and places to purge during your spring cleaning for poison prevention week.

Bathroom:
Expired medication, bathroom cleansers, drain openers, expired vitamins or over the counter medication, nail polish, nail polish remover, old make up, electronics, lotions, aerosol cans, hair spray products, hair dye, cold medication, cologne, perfume, room deodorizing spray, sharps, needles (put in a hard, rigid container), contact solution, contact cleaner, old shampoo & conditioner, thermometers
Garage/Shed:
Oil, antifreeze, waxes, polish, transmission fluid, old gas, engine cleaner, carpet cleaner, spray paint, house paint, paint thinner, varnish, lacquers, adhesives, glues, mineral spirits, grease, any type of insect killer, any type of weed killer, aerosol cans, lubricants, pressurized containers & tanks, fuel
