For instance, the transportation of petroleum through pipelines often results in leaks that can contaminate the surrounding environment, posing significant risks.
Transportation has also exacerbated pollution as vehicles and other means of transport rely heavily on fossil fuels. The growing number of vehicles on the road directly correlates with increased pollution levels, contributing to air quality deterioration.
